Woman dies in Fairfax County I-95 crash, police say
Fairfax County, Va. - An early Saturday morning crash resulted in the death of a woman in Fairfax County, police say.
At around 1:15 a.m. Saturday, Virginia State Police say troopers responded to a two-car crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 at mile marker 166, near the Fairfax Parkway exit.
Officials say a sedan traveling south on I-95 rear-ended a southbound SUV, which caused the SUV to overturn.
Virginia State Police say the driver of the SUV died at the scene. State police are still working to notify the adult female driver's next of kin.
The adult male driver of the sedan was not injured in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation and police anticipate that charges are pending.
