Water gushes from valve in Gaithersburg flooding roadway, causing delays

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - A leaking valve flooded a Gaithersburg roadway with water Monday morning causing major delays during the early commute.

The leak in the valve was reported around 4 a.m. on Route 355 near Game Preserve Road.

Road crews say all southbound lanes remain closed at Professional Drive. Northbound lanes of Route 355 at Game Preserve Road are open.

No injuries were reported. Road crews are expected to work at the scene throughout the morning.
