Autonomous driving is on the horizon, which is good news for everyone, as analysts continue to report that roadways will become safer with less traffic as driverless vehicles hit the road. But a University in Florida is looking at a different application of the technology...involving spinning blades.

Students at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach are testing their own version of driverless vehicles aimed at fulfilling the needs of the Department of Transportation. With over 20,000 road construction related injuries each year in the U.S. the team hopes to make the most dangerous roadside jobs much safer. We're all for keeping people safe. But will this put the 140,000 humans hired to maintain America's roads and highways on the street?
