Virginia woman charged with felony child neglect after throwing baby to ground, police say

DUMFRIES, Va. - A northern Virginia woman was arrested and charged after police say she threw a baby to the ground during an altercation.
According to Prince William County Police, on Feb. 1, officers responded to the Montclair Apartments located in the 4000 block of Middleton Lane in Dumfries to investigate a domestic dispute.
Police say the woman, 31-year-old Jakea Nyeer Adaun Woodley, was holding the infant when she got into a verbal argument with another family member.
During the encounter, she reportedly threw the baby to the ground before eventually separating from the individual she was arguing with.
Police were contacted and the child was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.
Woodley was arrested later that day and charged with felony child neglect. Her bond was set at $2,500.
