Virginia State Police looking for truck driver who fled deadly Interstate 66 crash

Virginia State Police are asking for the public's help as they try to find a driver who fled from a deadly crash on Interstate 66 in Warren County.

Police began investigating Tuesday night when they responded to the scene at the 5-mile marker on I-66 at about 8:25 p.m.

According to police, two pickup trucks were traveling together east on the highway when one of their tires went flat.

State Police say one of the drivers - 55-year-old Steven Mackall of Washington - was working on the flat tire when he was struck by a tractor trailer.

They say the tractor trailer continued east on I-66.

The only description a witness could provide was that the tractor trailer was white.
