UPDATE: Parents located of non-verbal child found in Loudoun County

UPDATE: Loudoun County Sheriff's Office reports that the parents of a non-verbal child who was found wandering alone near Route 7 earlier this morning have been located.

According to a spokesperson for the LCSO, a driver spotted the child walking near the busy road, and contacted police. The child was picked up shortly afterwards, and police shared the child's picture with the public. A friend of the family recognized the child, and provided the information to the police. Within minutes, the parents were notified and shortly after they were re-united with their child.

The child was located in the Ashburn area near Lexington Drive & Rt. 7 around 5:45 a.m. today.

The young child is non-verbal & was unable to provide info regarding his name or address.
