Trapped occupant jumps from second floor window after fire burns home in Gaithersburg

Officials say one person jumped to safety from a second floor window after fire broke out at a house in Montgomery County. The two-alarm fire was reported around 4:50 a.m. at a house on the 9200 block of Oriole Place in Gaithersburg.

All occupants of the home are now out of the house. Two occupants have been transported to a nearby burn center with non-life-threatening injuries. One firefighter underwent a medical evaluation at the scene.

At one point as many as 90 fire fighters were battling the blaze. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer says the fire has displaced several families.
