Teen formally charged in murder of Reston couple

Police have formally charged a 17-year-old boy in the murder of a Reston couple, who were shot and killed in their home before Christmas.

Fairfax County police say they obtained petitions for the teen from Lorton, who remains in the hospital and served them on Friday morning.

Police say he is still not being identified because of his age.

Investigators say they charged the teen as a juvenile with two counts of murder after officers found he shot and killed Scott Fricker and Buckley Kuhn-Fricker at the 2600 block of Black Fir Court on December 22.

It is believed the suspect was a boyfriend of the couple's daughter. Sources say the Frickers had made attempts to end the teenagers' relationship - with the boyfriend being described as having neo-Nazi views.

Investigators say the teen gained access to the house that morning, but when he was confronted by the Frickers, he shot them.

The teen shot himself and has been in the hospital ever since.
