Strike at Dulles International Airport could impact holiday travel

DULLES, Va. - Hundreds of baggage handlers, wheelchair attendants and customer service agents at Dulles International Airport have walked off the job Wednesday in a move that could impact holiday travel.

The strike, which involves contracted service workers of the Huntleigh USA Corporation, is planned to last into the afternoon and continue again tomorrow.

According to a statement from the Service Employees International Union, the workers are protesting what they claim are poor conditions, mistreatment and low pay at the airport.

Huntleigh workers have walked off the job in the past at Dulles and at Reagan National Airport.
