Store employee shot during Fairfax Co. robbery
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - An employee of a computer and cellphone repair store was injured during a robbery, Fairfax County police said.
Officers responded around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday to the 2700 block of Beacon Hill Road in the Alexandria section of the county for a report of a shot person.
According to police, the store employee confronted a man who went into the store and took an item. During a struggle, the gun went off and hit the victim, who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect ran from the scene and has not been caught, police said.
"The suspect fled on foot towards Richmond Highway," said Fairfax County Police Officer Tania Wright. "So far, the only description we have is he was described as black, wearing a dark-colored coat, dark jeans and his face was covered.
Detectives spent the afternoon interviewing witnesses at the store.
