Sleeping baby kidnapped in DC when suspect steals car
WASHINGTON - Police are looking for a suspect after a baby was found unharmed following a kidnapping and car theft in Northeast DC.
DC police said officers responded to 18th Street and Monroe Street, Northeast at about 10:15 a.m. for a report of a kidnapping.
The victim told officers the sleeping baby was left in the car while the victim quickly ran into a business.
While the victim was inside the business, a suspect stole the car, according to police.
Officials said the suspect abandoned the car with the baby inside at 14th Street and W Street, Northeast and fled the scene.
The child was unharmed, according to authorities. Detectives say the suspect is a man between 17 and 19-years-old.

There is a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who can provide information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
