CHANTILLY, Va. - Fairfax County police say a woman was grazed by a stray bullet while walking in the parking lot of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Chantilly.
The 38-year-old victim was struck in the hand, according to police. She was taken to the hospital with a minor injury.
Police say the incident happened at around 3:55 p.m. Tuesday in the 4400 block of Chantilly Shopping Center.
Police are investigating where the gunfire originated from and are also checking with a gun range located nearby in the area. Police do not believe the woman was targeted and are classifying this investigation as a reckless discharge of a firearm.
