Police investigating shooting at basketball court in Dumfries

A teen was injured in a shooting at a basketball court in Dumfries on Monday. According to a witness, the shooting was the result of an argument between two teens playing on the court. FOX 5's Shomari Stone reports.

What we know:

Officers with the Prince William County Police Department were called to the area of the basketball courts at Potomac Shores Fitness Barn around 5:35 p.m. on March 9 for a report of a shooting. 

According to a witness who spoke with FOX 5, there were around 50 people out in the warm weather Monday playing basketball when two teens got in an argument. 

The witness says one pulled out a gun, fired at least two shots, hitting the other teen. Dozens of people started running away from the court, fearing for their lives.

The shooter then reportedly jumped into a car and sped off, and medics drove the teen who was shot to a hospital.

The current condition of the victim is not known at this time.

The Potomac Shores Fitness Barn is located at the Shores Club in the area of Potomac Shores Parkway and Dunnington Place in Dumfries. 

It's generally open Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It features cardio/weight machines, a movement studio, and classes, with hours subject to change for holidays.

What we don't know:
