Bomb threat cleared in Northwest DC

Police were called to investigate a bomb threat in Northwest D.C. Friday afternoon.

What we know:

MPD says officers responded to the 1000 block of 14th Street, NW, near K Street.

Police noted that the incident is not involved with the Washington Post building, which is at 1301 K Street, NW. 

The department posted on X about the incident at 3:47 p.m. Around 4:15 p.m., MPD said they cleared the original bomb threat, and no hazardous materials were found.

What we don't know:

It's not yet clear exactly when police were made aware of the threat, or what kind of material was initially reported to be at the scene. 

No additional details have been released at this time.
