Pedestrian hit by DC police SUV
WASHINGTON - Authorities say a D.C. officer struck a pedestrian with an SUV police vehicle in Northwest D.C.
Police say an officer responding to a call with sirens and lights on was traveling through the intersection at Connecticut Avenue and L Street at around 1:45 p.m. when the pedestrian was hit.
Witnesses say the man was in the middle of a crosswalk.
D.C. Fire and EMS says the pedestrian and the officer were both transported to the hospital. The pedestrian suffered critical injuries while the officer had serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
