Mom, kids found safe after Polk custody hearing
BARTOW (FOX 13) - A mother and her children have been found safe after going missing amidst a custody dispute, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies in Polk County were looking for Kelli Rae Alderman and her two kids, who disappeared Tuesday.
Alderman was last seen at the Bartow courthouse, where a judge ordered her to turn the two boys over to the care of their father, who's from Georgia. Dennis Hagood of Homerville, Georgia got a court order from both Georgia and Polk County for custody of the kids, but neither Alderman nor the boys had been seen since the hearing.
Wednesday evening, PCSO detectives said they talked to Kelli Alderman and ensured the two kids were safe.
The judge in Ga. rescinded the original court order granting the father custody of the children. The family is no longer missing and the case is closed in Polk County.
