Missing elderly man from Bethesda may have taken Metro into DC

Authorities are asking for help finding a missing elderly man from Montgomery County they say may have taken the Metro into D.C. but never returned.

Officers say 81-year-old Fernando Ponce was last seen on Bethesda Avenue in Bethesda around 9:30 a.m. on October 2. Family members tell police that they believe Fernando had taken the Metro to the Library of Congress. He was wearing blue pants with a light blue shirt and a gray suit jacket.

Fernando is 5-feet-7-inches-tall and weighs 150 pounds and has gray hair.
