Minnieland teacher held 4-year-old up by her ankles, dropped her on her head, police say
WOODBRIDGE, Va. (FOX 5 DC) -- Another Minnieland Academy teacher is facing criminal charges after she allegedly threw a 4-year-old to the ground, then picked her up by her ankles, and dropped her on her head.
Syeda Sunnia Ali, 27, of Woodbridge is charged with assault and battery.
Ali has been removed from the classroom, and the child's parents were notified, according to the police.
The child's injuries were described as minor.
Minnieland - which was one of the largest daycare chains in the D.C. region - was the target of multiple investigations last year after a teacher was arrested for sexually abusing a number of young boys.
The company has also dealt with lawsuits from a child cruelty scandal at Woodbridge in 2013 and a sexual assault incident at Centreville in 2010.
Ali has been released after posting bond.
