Metro work to affect rail riders over Memorial Day weekend

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says weekend work will affect riders using the rail system over the Memorial Day holiday.

Metro says that from 7 a.m. Saturday through closing on Monday, the Vienna, Dunn Loring and West Falls Church stations will be closed. Free shuttle buses will operate between Vienna and East Falls Church. There will be no orange line trains this weekend. Silver line trains will operate between Wiehle-Reston East and New Carrollton.

In addition, Metro says silver and blue line trains will operate every 20 minutes from Saturday through Monday. Yellow and green line trains will operate every 12 to 15 minutes from Saturday through Monday. And red line trains will operate every 8 to 16 minutes on Saturday and Sunday.
