Maryland health officials urge residents to get the flu shot
BALTIMORE, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - The Maryland State Health Department is urging everyone in the state to get their flu shot!
The season has already started and at least 11 cases of the flu have been reported.
Most of the cases were influenza A, with a few classified as influenza B. The vaccine protects against both.
During last year’s flu season, more than 3,200 people were hospitalized for the flu and 82 flu-related deaths were reported to the MDH.
