Man shot early Thursday morning near National Mall

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - Authorities say a man was shot early Thursday morning close to the National Archives building near the National Mall in the District.

Officers say the shooting happened in the Northwest near 9th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue around 2 a.m. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Roads in the area are still shut down as police investigate. The investigation is continuing at this time.
