Man injured after car struck by freight train

IJAMSVILLE, Md. - A man was injured after the vehicle they were in was struck by a freight train in Frederick County, Md.

The accident happened around 4 a.m. at the train crossing near Ijamsville Road and Reichs Ford Road.

The man was transported by ambulance to Meritus Medical Center.

Officials say there were no reports of a derailment.

Some roads in the area were closed while the investigation took place.
