Man arrested for allegedly taking upskirt video of 13-year-old girl at Whole Foods in DC’s Logan Circle, authorities say

Authorities arrested a man accused of using his cellphone to record video up the skirt of a 13-year-old girl at a grocery store in Northwest, D.C. and say they may have found dozens of other possible "upskirt" videos on the same device.

Investigators say the incident happened back on Sunday, March 31 around 7 p.m. at the Whole Foods in the 1400 block of P Street in the Logan Circle neighborhood.

According to court documents, a witness noticed 25-year-old Daniel Izquierdo standing close to the 13-year-old girl inside of the store. The witness told police that she moved closer and saw a phone inside of a bag with a hole in it that had been placed close to the girl's leg.

The witness told officers she believed Izquierdo was using the phone to see under the skirt of the young girl and, according to court documents, confronted Izquierdo and hit him multiple times while several people helped her hold him down until police arrived. Once detectives arrived at the scene they took possession of Izquierdo's cell phone.

The documents say Izquierdo told officers that he had come into the market from a skate park to get something to drink and that he was not using his phone to record anything at the store.

After reviewing security footage from the store, investigators turned their attention to Izquierdo's cell phone videos, the report says. According to the report, authorities say they found an "upskirt" video showing the undergarments of the young girl in question. The video also captured footage of the witness confronting Izquierdo, the report says.

In addition to the video of the young girl, court documents say police discovered an "upskirt" video on Izquierdo's phone taken the same day, inside the same store that showed the private area of a female shopper taken while the woman was in line at the register.

According to official documents, an additional search of Izquierdo's phone uncovered an additional 37 videos that contained footage of the undergarments and the private areas of at least 34 additional women. Those additional videos, court documents say, appear to have been taken without any of the women's consent.

Izquierdo was arrested and charged with two counts of voyeurism for the incident involving the young girl and the female. The investigation is continuing.
