Lockdown lifted at 2 Stafford County schools after suspicious call
STAFFORD, Va. - A suspicious phone call sparked lockdowns at two Stafford County public schools on Monday, according to officials.
The Stafford County Sheriff's Office said Park Ridge Elementary received a suspicious call at about noon.
Officials placed the elementary school and nearby North Stafford High School on lockdown as deputies investigated.
Authorities searched the schools and no suspects were located. The lockdowns were lifted after deputies declared the schools safe.
The sheriff's department said the investigation into the suspicious call was ongoing.
