Howard University students among 3 shot in drive-by shooting in Northwest DC

Authorities are investigating after three people, including two Howard University students, were shot in a drive-by shooting early Friday morning in Northwest, D.C.

The shooting happened on the 100 block of Adams Street around 12:50 a.m.

Investigators say three victims were in the area when shots were fired. Officers say one person was shot in the elbow and another in the shoulder. Both victims were transported to nearby hospitals. The third victim walked into a hospital with gunshot wounds to the forearm. Police say a male and a female victim were Howard University students.

Witnesses say the shots came from a light colored vehicle. The vehicle's driver's side window was shattered during the shooting.

The investigation is still continuing.
