Four shootings reported overnight in D.C., one fatal

D.C. police reported four shootings Saturday morning in the District, including one that killed a man in Southeast.

The first shooting happened around 1:12 a.m. at 346 Eastern Ave., Northeast. Police say they found the victim running on Martin Luther King Highway in Capitol Heights after the shooting. Police took the victim, a Fairmount Heights man, to the hospital and recovered four shell casings at the shooting scene in Northeast. 

The second happened around 3:06 a.m. at 1520 18th Street, Southeast. Police say they took the victim, 28-year-old William Roland of Southeast D.C., to a hospital after finding him lying on the street and performing life-saving measures. Roland was shot in the chest and neck. Police found 11 shell casings at the scene. 

Roland later died of his injuries at a nearby hospital. 

The third shooting happened around 4:56 a.m. in the 3600 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. No other information was immediately available.

The fourth happened around 9:30 this morning in the 700 block of Atlantic Street, Southeast. Police say the shooter was driving an older model green Chevy Trailblazer. No other information was immediately available.
