Fairfax Police: Possible serial groper at large in Centreville

Police are investigating a possible link between two groping attacks of women on walking trails in Centreville.

The incidents happened within hours of each other on April 18. The first attack happened on Braddock Road near Sully Station Drive around 3:30 p.m. A woman reported a man approached her from behind, touched her inappropriately and ran.

In a second attack around 6:30 p.m. a few miles away at EC Lawrence Park a woman noticed a man asking people for hugs. Police say the man then walked up to the woman from behind and rubbed his body against hers. She confronted the man and then ran.

Police say in both instances the suspect was described as a male in his late teens to 20s with short brown hair and glasses.

Police ask people to avoid walking or running alone if possible and to always remain aware and attentive to their surroundings.
