DC weather: Wintry mix could bring rain, snow, and sleet later this week

DC Region Braces for Wintry Mix

A mix of winter precipitation is possible across parts of the Washington, D.C. region late Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

FOX 5’s Taylor Grenda says the chance for a mix of rain, snow, and sleet is possible beginning sometime around 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

The wintry mix is expected to continue throughout the overnight hours into Thursday morning before it turns to rain.  Temperatures in the 60s on Thursday will warm things up considerably.

Rain Expected to Follow Overnight Snow and Sleet

The threat of rain sticks around on Thursday before sunny conditions arrive Friday.

The wet weather returns on Saturday and Sunday.

Potential Commute and School Disruptions Thursday Morning

The timing of the wintry mix could possibly impact the Thursday morning drive to work. The winter weather could also potentially lead to school closings and delays.
