DC Mayor Bowser calls on families and community members to help "our young people have a safe summer"

Mayor Bowser and District officials discuss the end of the school year and transition into summer with the help of ‘Stomp Rockets’ from the Department of Parks and Recreation’s (DPR) Boost: Rocket Camp

Joined by students and community members, Bowser touched on educational and recreational resources that are available to help youth to stay engaged, active, and safe this summer. DPR will be offering 13,000 summer camp slots at over 60 locations in the District.

This press conference comes days after several D.C. Council members are calling for an independent investigation into the sexual misconduct claims against former D.C. Deputy Mayor John Falcicchio. Bowser did not address these concerns.
