DC Fire and EMS K9 Officer Kylie (DC Fire and EMS)
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - A DC Fire and EMS human remains detection dog, who was critically injured two weeks ago during a search near the George Washington Parkway, has been cleared to go back to work.
Kylie and her partner, Sgt. Gene Ryan, were searching in a wooded area when Kylie impaled her paw.
A U.S. Park Police helicopter landed on the parkway and transported Kylie to an animal hospital where she underwent surgery.
On Tuesday, she was cleared by her veterinarian to return to work.
