DC convenience store robbed at gunpoint for 3rd time this year; police release surveillance video
WASHINGTON - Police are searching for a suspect they say robbed a Northwest, D.C. convenience store at gunpoint.
Investigators released surveillance video of the incident that happened around 7:55 p.m. on Saturday, November 24 in the 5500 block of 14th Street.
In the video, it appears the suspect fires a shot into the ground by the store's counter before demanding money from the register. After the cashier handed over money the suspect fled on foot.
This incident is the latest in a string of armed robberies reported at the same convenience store. Police say armed robberies were reported at the store in January and again in October of this year. Police have not connected the robberies.
Anyone with information should call police at 202-727-9099. Police are offering a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this incident.
