Comcast, Cox offering WiFi hotspots for customers and non-customers during winter storm
WASHINGTON - With a major winter storm hitting the D.C. area, Comcast and Cox Communications have opened their WiFi hotspots to anyone who needs it, including non-customers.
Those in the D.C. region where Comcast provides service to can get access to these hotspots, which will allow people to use their wireless devices to connect to the internet.
Users should select the "xfinitywifi" network when connected to the WiFi hotspot. Comcast customers can use their username and password to sign in. Non-Comcast customers can visit the "Not an XFINITY Internet Customer" sign-in section to gain WiFi access.

Cox is also providing access to more than 750 WiFi hotspots in northern Virginia through Friday, Jan. 29. Users can access by selecting an available Cox network and hitting "enter."
