WASHINGTON - Police say a child has died after falling unconscious at the D.C. General Shelter in Southeast D.C.
According to D.C. police, they received a call at around 7:38 a.m. Wednesday about the unconscious child at the homeless shelter. The victim was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.
No further information was given by police regarding the circumstances surrounding the victim's death.
D.C. General is the process of transitioning families out of the shelter and is scheduled to close in September.
