Bomb threat suspends service on portion of VRE line in Stafford County

A person was taken into custody for allegedly making a bomb threat while onboard a train that halted service along a portion of Virginia's VRE line Tuesday morning.

Police activity at the Leeland Road VRE station in Stafford County was suspended around 7:45 a.m. because of the alleged threat. The delays along the Fredericksburg line prompted officials to sugest alternate transportation and to put buses into place.

One person was taken into custody. It is not clear when train service on the Fredericksburg line will resume.
