Baby Blake receives life-saving liver transplant

CLINTON, Md. - A 9-month-old baby boy received a much needed donation on Sunday.

Baby Blake Thomas, who FOX 5 introduced you to a couple weeks ago, was in need of a liver transplant because he was suffering from a very rare form of childhood liver cancer.

On Sunday, baby Blake got the transplant, and now has a new chance at life. His mom tells FOX 5 the donation came from a deceased donor from Pennsylvania.

He had the transplant at MedStar Georgetown. He is in recovery and is expected to be in the hospital for at least a couple of weeks.

Blake also received his sixth and final round of chemotherapy. At this point his doctors expect him to make a full recovery.
