94-year-old man dies in 2-alarm fire in Annandale

ANNANDALE, Va. - A 94-year-old man has died in an early New Year's Day fire in Annandale, Fairfax County fire officials say.

They say Lewis C. Spessard had already passed from his injuries inside the home when crews arrived.

Fairfax County Fire officials say the two-alarm fire happened at 4:20 a.m. at the 4900 block of Columbia Road. Investigators say there was smoke showing from the one-story home.

They say the fire is under investigation.
