1 dead in crash involving suspected wrong-way driver in Charles County

BRYANTOWN, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - A crash involving a suspected wrong-way driver left one person dead in Charles County.

The early morning crash was reported around 2 a.m. on northbound Leonardtown Road near Huckleberry Drive and in the Bryantown, Maryland area.

Police believe a motorist was heading the wrong way, driving southbound along the northbound lanes of Leonardtown Road, when they struck the vehicle.

Officers say one person in the vehicle that was struck died. Another person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
