WASHINGTON - We are in store for some serious snow melting across the D.C. region this weekend as temperatures warm up considerably.
By Saturday, the chilly air will be pushed out - replaced by warmer, milder air which will bring temperatures up to the 50s and 60s.
Plenty of sunshine is expected both Saturday and Sunday and the mild temperatures (even overnight) mean no overnight refreezing.
The way it's looking right now, said FOX 5 meteorologist Gary McGrady, is that we should have 48 to 72 hours of temperatures above freezing over this weekend.
Look for a flurry on Friday morning before we welcome a 53 degree day on Saturday and a 60 degree day on Sunday.
Take your snow pictures and get in your sled rides - by next week, the landscape around here will look very different.
