DC police search for trash truck driver after deadly hit-and-run involving e-bikes

D.C. police are searching for the driver of a trash truck after a deadly hit-and-run in Northwest D.C. Investigators say two women riding electric bikes were struck around 2 p.m. near Upshur Street and Georgia Avenue. One woman was killed, and the other was hospitalized. Police say the truck involved is white and green and has “WB Waste Solutions LLC” on the side. A shaken witness told FOX 5 they saw the truck “running over” the victims and said it never stopped. Detectives have not released the women’s names or ages and are still working to determine what led up to the crash and why the driver kept going. If you saw the collision or spot the truck, police are asking you to contact them.
