A nurse's heartfelt anniversary

A Children?s National Hospital nurse in the Heart and Kidney Unit just celebrated her one-year anniversary at Children?s National on Oct. 7. This year has been an especially rewarding journey because Kendra?s mom was treated on this same unit when she was a kid. Kendra?s mom was diagnosed with end stage kidney disease at 15. She was seen at Children's National where she underwent dialysis three times a week until she got her first transplant when she was 18. She would receive two of her four transplants at Children's National.
