Pedestrian struck on New York Avenue in northeast
WASHINGTON - Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck in northeast D.C.
The accident happened around 4 a.m. in the 1800 block of eastbound New York Avenue. Police say a woman was struck while she attempted to cross the street.
Authorities closed New York Avenue between Montana Avenue and Bladensburg Road for several hours. Emergency crews say the pedestrian was hospitalized and remains in critical condition.
The vehicle involved in the accident remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
