WASHINGTON - Paralyzed U.S. army veteran Ricky Raley is hand-cyclng from New York City to Florida (over 1500 miles!) to raise awareness about mental health issues suffered by military vets.
Raley served in Operation Iraqi Freedom where he suffered a traumatic brain injury. After returning home, Raley was in a near-fatal traffic accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down.
Raley is riding in support of the Boot Campaign which promotes health and wellness for service members of all generations. Since its start in 2011, the Boot Campaign has raised more than $19 million for veterans.
