Man shot Sunday afternoon in Columbia Heights

WASHINGTON - A man is in the hospital after a shooting Sunday afternoon in Columbia Heights.
Police say it happened around 12:56 p.m. at Sherman Avenue and Columbia Road, NW.
A police spokesman tells Fox 5 the victim was conscious and breathing while being taken to the hospital.
