ICE catches detainee who escaped on Dulles Toll Road in Loudoun County

Officers with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement captured a detainee who escaped from custody on the Dulles Toll Road in Loudoun County, according to officials.

Police said 27-year-old Marlon Carlos Rivas-Mendez was taken into custody without incident at about 11 a.m. on Monday.

While being transported, officials said Rivas-Mendez assaulted the transport worker and escaped custody between the exits of Loudoun County Parkway and Old Ox Road at about 12:20 p.m.

Officers with several local agencies helped canvass the area and Rivas-Mendez was taken back into custody at about 2:20 p.m. in the area of Mercure Circle and Old Ox Road.

Rivas-Mendez now also faces charges of assault and battery, according to officials.
