Two people were reportedly kidnapped at knifepoint from their home in Northeast D.C. early Thursday morning and police are asking for the public's help as they search for the suspect.

According to police, they began investigating when the incident was reported shortly before 7 a.m.

The victims told police that they woke up around 3:25 a.m. when they heard their dog growling.

According to the victims, the suspect broke in through an unlocked window and snuck into their bedroom.

When he entered the bedroom, the suspect allegedly drew a knife and demanded "all their money."

After the victims told the suspect they didn't have any money, he forced them out of bed and made them get dressed, ordering them to drive him to a Circle 7 store to withdraw $200 from an ATM machine.

After they returned to the victims' home, the suspect reportedly returned some property he'd taken as collateral and then took their money.

The suspect was last seen running through an alley in the rear off of 1211 Mount Olivet Rd., Northeast.
