Man charged with first-degree murder after shooting in Northeast DC

DC Police have arrested a man for first-degree murder after a male victim died following a shooting in Northeast D.C. on Wednesday.

Police responded to the 4800 block of N. Capitol St. NE around 10:23 a.m. for the report of a shooting. Officers located the victim, identified as Douglas Jerome Johnson, 41, of Northeast D.C., suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

He was transported to the hospital where he later died.

The suspect, D’Andre Brewer, 25, of Northeast D.C., was apprehended by responding officers. He has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder while armed.
