It’s Day 1 of the massive Metro Red Line summer shutdown, and to say it’s off to a rough start would be an understatement. During the evening rush hour, lines for shuttle buses stretched completely around the block as thousands of Montgomery County commuters scrambled to figure out their new detours. With several key stations officially closed through September, passengers are already feeling the pain of extended commute times and packed transfers.
