Dozens of new laws are now on the books in D.C., Maryland and Virginia as of July 1. FOX 5 breaks down some of the biggest changes, including new rules for dangerous drivers in Virginia, school cell phone policies in Maryland and a minimum wage increase in the District. In Virginia, judges can now order some drivers caught going 100 mph or more to install speed-limiting technology. Maryland schools are preparing for a statewide bell-to-bell cell phone policy, while D.C.’s minimum wage is increasing to $18.40 an hour.
