Cold front triggers DC storm watch as heavy weather hits Richmond and the panhandle

A strong cold front pushing into hot, humid air has triggered a severe thunderstorm watch across the D.C. metro area, bringing scattered showers for the evening commute. While heavy rain and flash flood warnings have hit areas near Richmond and far western Maryland, thick cloud cover has kept the immediate DC area mostly quiet so far.
