Person struck by train at Virginia Square Metro station
A person was rushed to an area hospital Friday after unintentionally stumbling onto the tracks and being struck by an approaching train at the Virginia Square Metro station. Arlington County Fire & EMS crews extricated the individual after they were temporarily trapped beneath the rail car, prompting street congestion and the suspension of Orange and Silver Line service between Ballston and Clarendon. Transit officials deployed bus shuttles and initiated single tracking while first responders worked on the scene.
